Maria Provenzano

Maria

Founder / Proprietor

Maria is a graduate of Daemen College, as of May 2014, she obtained a Master of Science in the Executive Leadership and Change Program with a Business Concentration. In her undergraduate she acquired a Bachelor of Science in Fashion Technology/Design and Dance Minor from Buffalo State College and studied dance at the University at Buffalo

Since then, she has choreographed, performed and modeled in musicals, fashion shows, charity events, local festivals and various dance performances in the Western New York Area and abroad. Over her many years of performance, she has won several awards and recognitions. Maria was a member of the African based Dance Company "Janet Reed & Dancers" Dance Company from 2002 until 2008. She was a semifinalist on the hit TV Show "So You Think You Can Dance", as well as a Top 23 semifinalist for "The Next CW Girl" in 2011.

Maria was a member and captain of Matthew Clarks’s record breaking tap dance team in Riesa, Germany for the International Dance Organization. Maria worked as an event coordinator and a mixologist in the restaurant business for over ten years was lucky enough to work alongside Chef Daniela Cosmano Kayser of Daniela Catering; an upscale catering and event planning company. She spent time working on film in the WNY area on wardrobe, craft services and also as an extra. She currently works for The Public Newspaper, WNY’s true alternative paper as an Account Advertising Executive, also dabbling in some fashion writing. She enjoys print and runway modeling, dancing, cooking, reading, networking, promotions and having fun with family and friends. Maria is the founder and director of the Foxy Diamondz and is excited to spread dance culture and create performance opportunities for the diverse talent in the WNY Area!

Kara

Kara

Performer / Choreographer

Kara is a Buffalo dancer, choreographer, instructor and the owner of Free Soul Dance. Currently she dances and choreographs for Free Soul’s Performance Group, performing at local festivals including Elmwood Art Fest, Music is Art, Buffalo Infringement Fest, as well as charitable events. She is also a guest teacher and choreographer at local dance studios, high schools, and colleges.
She found her love of dance through her many years of Ballet and Pointe training at Performing Arts Dance Academy. As she expanded her experiences, she found a love for teaching and exploring all types of dance styles. She attended the University at Buffalo for college, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Dance and a Bachelor of Science in Marketing.

While at UB, Kara was involved in numerous student and university run concerts, bringing to light her other love of choreography. While in college, Kara continue to teach at local studios and take numerous trips to NYC where she took class from a variety of instructors at places like Broadway Dance Center, Peridance and Steps on Broadway, as well as attend a summer intensive at Point Park University. While at UB, she also studied with a variety of artists in residence including Elisa Monte, Doug Varone & Dancers, Martha Graham Company, and the Jose Limon Company.

After college she joined Buffalo Contemporary Dance where she was given the opportunity to perform at local events and seasonal dance concerts. Introducing her first hand, to the growing dance community and opportunities in Buffalo. After the company disbanded, she played a major role in founding the Habit Dance Project, a group created to increase networking opportunities for dancers throughout Buffalo.

She is excited to join the Foxy Diamondz team, allowing her the opportunity to use her diverse background of dance styles and performance skills. She is excited to have a chance to perform at more events around Buffalo, improve her tap skills and have lots of fun sharing her love of dance throughout WNY!

Holli

Holli

Captain / Performer

A Buffalo native, Holli began her dance journey at the age of three at Barb Denny’s Studio of Dance Arts. She studied various styles including: tap, jazz, ballet, modern, contemporary, hip hop, and musical theater. While at Barb Denny’s, Holli performed at Disney World and Darien Lake’s concert series. She opened for performers, Raven Symone and Mitchell Musso. Holli was also an active member in music and theatre growing up. Through middle and high school, she was participated in band, choir, and musicals inside school and the outside community.

After graduating from Lancaster High School, Holli continued her education in dance and was accepted into University at Buffalo’s prestigious Dance Program. She graduated in May 2014 with her BFA in Dance. While in school, she was fortunate to be a part of many residencies and master classes such as; Lehrerdance, Limon Dance Company, Pilobolus, River North Dance Chicago, and Doug Varone and Dancers. She was a member of the Zodiaque Dance Company and Zodiaque Dance Ensemble. Along with dance performances, Holli has recently done theatre, performing with local companies Shakespeare in Delaware Park and Torn Space Theater.

Holli is currently a dance instructor at Barb Denny’s and Tonawanda Dance Arts. She also works at the Jewish Community Center, teaching an after school flash mob dance program called Kids “J” Mob. When not teaching, you can find her dancing the night away at the Seneca Niagara Casino.

Holli is very excited to be not only a member but the captain of Foxy team. She regularly contributes choreography and creative ideas which bring the group to the next level! She enjoys the chance to work with many other talented dancers within the company. Holli looks forward to more performance opportunities in WNY and can’t wait to share her love of dance with others!

Chelsi

Chelsi

Performer / Choreographer

Chelsi currently lives in Holland, NY. She is employed at EPIC Dance Center in Blasdell, NY teaching a wide variety of dance techniques. She also works at her family’s restaurant, Whelan’s Colden Lakeside Restaurant.

During her spare time she provides quality, safe childcare to parents in the community. She started her training at the age of two and has mastered many different styles of dance including: ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, contemporary, modern, lyrical and stepping. Chelsi started competing at the age of four and continued to do so until she graduated high school. She started her training in Niagara Falls, Ontario at Laurie Ewarts Danceworks where she trained for 15 years. She then continued studying dance throughout college at the State University of New York at Fredonia, where she graduated on the Deans List with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. While attending Fredonia, Chelsi was a member of the student-run dance company on campus, Orchesis, and held the position of secretary on their Executive Board for 2 ½ years. She also was on the first official Hip Hop team created at Fredonia, Envied Xpression, for three years.

Chelsi is not only a performer but she is also a well-rounded choreographer. She has choreographed multiple dances in her past for Envied Xpression, Orchesis and the Foxy Diamondz, ranging from 3-20 dancers. She has created over 15 pieces ranging from ballet to hip-hop. For her senior piece last spring, she choreographed a six-minute production number, which included four different styles of dance in it, and was asked to be performed on three different occasions.

Chelsi joined the Foxy Diamondz in October of 2016 and was given a big role as the lead in her first performance at "Buffalo's Annual: Witches Ball" as Alice in "Alice in Foxland". She has also assisted with choreography for a few pieces for the Diamondz already, and is currently focusing on a contemporary piece to be debuted this summer (2017). Chelsi is excited to continue working with the Foxy Diamondz and is very thankful for all of the past opportunities and looking forward to many more to come in the future!

Allison

Allison

Allison began dancing at the age of two with the Center of Dance Motivation studio in Blasdell. Over the course of 13 years she primarily focused on tap eventually branching out into jazz and hip hop. Her studio participated at local dance competitions and the Erie County Fair annually.

Allison decided to focus on cheerleading throughout her four years at Frontier High School. Her varsity team took home first at nearly every competition including nationals. Continuing her education at Mercyhurst University in Erie, Pennsylvania, Allison became a member of their cheerleading squad as well. After just one season with the MU cheerleaders Allison was convinced to audition for the city’s arena football team, the Erie Explosion where she would spend the next three years. The dance team also known as the ERIEsistables, performed multiple times throughout the game and mini combinations in the aisle entrances gearing up the crowd! The team was also heavily involved in the community. They performed at charity events, fundraisers and hosted clinics for young aspiring dancers. It was through her three seasons with this team that she discovered her love of performance and being a role model for young women in the community.

After returning back to Buffalo with her degree in fashion merchandising Allison accepted a management position at Hot Topic, in addition to her management position at her family’s pizzeria in Angola. When she is not dancing, she spends her free time designing and creating costumes and props for herself and friends to display at both local and national comic conventions.

Since relocating back home she’s been on the search for another dance organization to call home. While taking some time off to take classes around the area, she found the Foxy Diamondz and auditioned. Allison is thrilled to be dancing alongside this group of amazing ladies and is excited to return to performing. Allison uses her sewing skills and talents creating signature looks and styles specifically for foxy events, alongside the director.

Erin

Erin

Performer

Erin began her dance training at the age four and continued to dance until age eighteen at Perinton Dance Company (formerly Lynn Scott school of dance) in Fairport, NY. She is trained in ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary and modern. During her time at Perinton Dance Company, she competed in both regional and national competitions. She has had the opportunity to take master classes with Mia Michaels, Brian Thomas, Billy Angel and many other notable choreographers. She has performed with multiple companies and organizations including The North Carolina Ballet Theatre, Moné Dance Company, and Free Soul performance group. 

Erin took some time off from dancing and performing to further her education. She holds both a bachelors and masters degrees from the University at Buffalo. When not at work, Erin is pursuing her passion for dance.

She is also a dancer in the Free Soul performance group which performs locally in festivals such as the Elmwood Art Festival and the Infringement Festival. Erin is excited to be part of the Foxy Diamondz and have the opportunity to grow as a dancer and a performer.

Lauren

Performer

Lauren began dancing at the age of three at Lorraine Goddard Dance Studio. She became a class assistant and joined the Senior Travel Competition team at the studio during her high school years. With the competition team, she had the opportunity to compete at a national level and be a part of a winning team in many locations around the country including Myrtle Beach, Cape May and Disney World While at Disney. She also had the experience of performing in the parks as part of the entertainment. The team travelled to NYC to attend classes at Broadway Dance Center and gained a vast knowledge from some of the world’s best dance instructors. After graduating high school, Lauren became a teacher and choreographer at the studio while continuing to attend dance classes at Niagara University. Through her connections at NU she performed at Buffalo’s Music is Art Festival for the first time in 2006.

As an adult, Lauren found Free Soul Dance Studio and the Foxy Diamondz community where she auditioned to be a part of the team in December 2014. She has performed at various events and festivals with both Free Soul and the Foxy Diamondz including: Trimania, VegFest, Infringement, the Witches’ Ball and the World’s Largest Disco. She has also had the pleasure of being volunteer coordinator with Dance Days of Buffalo, a 3 day dance festival held in August in Buffalo. When she is not dancing, Lauren stays as active in the arts community as possible and enjoys live music and festivals in her “down time”. Lauren is excited to be a member of the Foxy Diamondz and is looking forward to another great year with the team!

Kaitlyn

Kaitlyn

Performer

Kaitlyn was born and raised in Buffalo, New York and has been dancing for more then 23 years. Most of her dance life was spent at Performing Arts Dance Academy where she trained in ballet, pointe, jazz, contemporary and hip hop. At her childhood studio she traveled to NYC where she attended classes at Broadway Dance Center and spent time at master classes with guest teachers. Kaitlyn was also given the opportunity to teach and explore the choreography aspect of dance. She continued her dance classes after graduating high school, while she attended Trocaire College. She graduated with her Surgical Technology degree and is currently working in her desired field.

After finishing school she began taking classes at Free Soul Dance where she was introduced to the Foxy Diamondz. In December 2014, she auditioned and began performing with the company. Her love for performing, experiencing new choreography and the amazing opportunities that The Foxy Diamondz have given her bring her joy and a desire to continue to grow as a dancer.

Jennifer

Jennifer started as a competitive gymnast at Stumpf's Gymnastics Center before starting her dance career at Dancentral at age 12. There, she became classically trained in many styles of dance including ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, modern and contemporary, as well as acrobatics.

From then on, Jennifer realized her true passion for dance and went on to attend the University at Buffalo where she graduated with her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance in 2013. She was a member of Zodiaque Dance Company for a number of years and took part in departmental shows such as; Dancer's Workshop. During her time in college, Jennifer also had the pleasure of performing a faculty choreographed piece at the American College Dance Festival her senior year.

Shortly after graduating college, Jennifer spent two years in New York City as a work study student at Broadway Dance Center, She spent time dancing and acting in various areas of TV and film.

Since moving back to Buffalo, Jennifer had the pleasure of working on the movie Marshall, starring as an extra, as well as Kate Hudson's stand in. On set of the film she met Maria, thus becoming a Fox. Jennifer has since returned to teaching and now performs with the Foxy Diamondz!

Brittany

Brittany

Performer

Brittany is originally from the small village of Union Springs, NY. Brittany has been dancing since she could walk and teaching since the age of 14. She was technically trained in ballet, modern, tap, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, pointe, musical theater and hip hop at Absolute Dance in Auburn, NY. Growing up, she performed in musicals for her school and community theaters varying from ensemble work to leading roles. Brittany was also a member of the Absolute Dance Company, a pre-professional dance company that performed for the community and traveled throughout New York.

In 2009, Brittany continued her dance education at the University at Buffalo. While attending the University, she performed and choreographed for Dancer's Workshop, Emerging Choreographers Showcase, Zodiaque Dance Ensemble and was a proud member of the Zodiaque Dance Company. For the Summer season of 2011, she relocated and danced professionally for Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, Virginia. Brittany was honored to be able to take many master classes including Giordano, Taylor II, Lehrerdance and Aszure Barton while attending UB. Brittany graduated Suma Cum Laude with her BFA in dance in 2012.

After graduating Brittany received a full scholarship to the Houston Mets Professional Intensive in Houston, Texas. Brittany lives to be on stage performing. She is so thankful for the opportunity to share the spotlight with these Foxy ladies and looks forward to being a part of such a special group of women.

Nicole

Brand Development & Management

As a native of Buffalo, Nicole has a deep respect and passion for the local art community. This passion has led her towards pursuing her Bachelor's of Arts degree in Cultural Studies with plans to continue towards a Master’s of Science degree through SUNY Empire State.

She has spent many years working alongside one of Buffalo's most well respected businessmen. Through this work experience, she has gained an understanding of what it takes to build a sustainable business in both the Real Estate and Hospitality industries. It was also through this experience that she met the founder of the Foxy Diamondz, Maria Provenzano. In addition, throughout her career she has taken every opportunity to build a network consisting of some of WNY’s most notable talents, not only within dance realm, but in various areas of the multifaceted art world. This dedication has allowed her to participate with the Foxy Diamondz on a new level.

In 2014, Nicole officially joined the Foxy Diamondz team to oversee Brand Development and Management. She is so proud to have spent eight years watching Maria create this business  from a simple concept on a piece of paper into what it is currently. She is inspired by Maria’s level of dedication as well her team of the talented ladies who are the Foxes. Nicole is privileged to be a representation of such innovative women.

Jillian

Event Management / Research and Development

Jillian earned her Master of Science degree in Executive Leadership and Change with a Higher Education Concentration from Daemen College, in May, 2014. In her undergraduate studies she earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Interdisciplinary Arts for Children with a Dance Concentration from the College at Brockport. She currently works in the Institutional Advancement division at Daemen College as the Strategic Information Manager.

Dance has been a part of Jillian’s life since a very young age. She grew up in Rochester, NY and took classes at (Denise’s) Dance Connection for 10 years. She attended many workshops through Dance Rochester and also assistant taught students ages 3-Teen for three years. She is currently a teacher/choreographer for Jaclyn Carol’s Dance Academy where her experience includes modern, jazz, hip-hop, tap, ballet and lyrical. Through her Brockport training, she participated in workshops such as Doug Varone and Dancers Company and performed in the Sankofa African Dance and Drum Ensemble. She was also a member of the College at Brockport Emeralds Dance team for three years where she performed hip-hop and jazz choreography.

Jillian is so excited to be a member of Foxy Diamondz team. She contributes her efforts behind the scenes through Event Management Assistance and Research & Development. Jillian is honored to help promote and spread the culture of dance.

Rachel Ryan

Rachel Ryan

Hairstylist & Make-Up Artist

Rachel has pursued her interest in art since a very young age, and in high school, began to focus her talent oil painting. In addition to her interest in art, Rachel has a passion for cosmetology, specifically makeup styling; she says “A face is like a blank canvas, you can do anything you want.” Her goal is to transform her clients from ordinary to become extraordinary.

Since the Foxy Diamondz began she has contributed her artistic cosmetology talents to the group. Rachel enjoys creating ignature hair and makeup styles for each of the Foxy Diamondz photo-shoots and performances. Rachel also avidly supports the group by attending all performances, assisting with event promotions through photography and overall helping to bring the Director’s visions to life.

In addition to her passion for art, Rachel is studying to become a contributing member in the healthcare field of Respiratory Therapy. She also is a wonderful mother to her beautiful five year old daughter. She enjoys spending her free time doing fun science experiments and making crafts with her daughter. Rachel is a true dichotomist who excels in math and science as well as the other half of the spectrum in the world of art.
